Joe Garrity is a writer, director and editor whose projects span narrative, nonfiction and visual art. He was Lead Editor and Assistant Director of WATERGATE (2018), a six-part documentary series by Charles Ferguson for A&E and History Channel. In 2017, he directed and edited ALVVAYS - IN UNDERTOW, the official music video for the debut single from Alvvays' second album on Polyvinyl Records, as well as designed a custom analogue video synthesizer to perform live visuals on the band's Antisocialites tour in the U.K., U.S. and Canada. His short film TWINSBURG (2016), a narrative set in Twinsburg, Ohio during a live twin convention, screened at over 50 film festivals and garnered 10 top awards.

Joe has worked with Pixar Animation Studios, the Telluride Film Festival, and NBC’s Saturday Night Live. He is pursuing an M.F.A. in Writing through a low-residency program at the University of California, Riverside, concentrating in screenwriting. In New York, he trains as an improviser in the Academy Program at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. He holds a B.S. in Genetics from the University of California, Berkeley.
